FEB from Leslie and Jessica - Italic penmanship

If you follow Leslie's blogs you know she is on a 100 day challenge to go through all of her art supplies. I hope she sends us a report when she is finished. Was it wildly successful or something else? I, too, pulled  out one of my sets of markers and have made some modest headway at sifting out the ones that need to go. It's not an easy task.

Jessica found inspiration from the Keith Haring stamp. I might have to buy some more as I keep. having new ideas.

When I got serious about finding an everyday penmanship style that I loved and tried to banish the yucky Zaner-Bloser from my muscle memory (which is impossible) I settled on italic penmanship and I think it is very nice. It's not beautiful, but it's pleasing to the eye. The big selling point is that a person can use it to *repair* their penmanship. You keep your natural slant and other natural inclinations - and just use the principles and geometry of italics to correct flaws.

Here's the first example I found - and it's a good example of everyday handwriting. It is from the Getty-DuBay website which is a very good place to start if you want to correct your penmanship.
