the concept of these letters is easier than actually doing them because it is hard to get the spacing right. the red brush strokes need to be done very quickly to look lively, but then it's hard to get them in the right place. it's probably one of those ideas that just needs time - as opposed to those other ideas that are instant. i put colored pencil over the red tombo to try to pull it together with the stamp. not very successful. note to self: pick the stamp first.
the letters just look like drippy blood to me. i need some of those dracula stamps. the curls don't even work to lighten things up.

once a year, i think i can skip the envelope and post something different. this was a letter that i found in one of the envelopes to ellen. i cropped the top off, because...just because....i like a little mystery. this was from the time when i did designs for Scrapbooks, Etc. I do not recall having to redo this alphabet 4 times. i do not recall ever having to redo anything for them. maybe i was just making up a story. it was very strange reading a bunch of letters and notes that i had written a decade ago to my daughter when she was in college. anyhow, i always liked this kind of writing and think it is very versatile. i should use it more often.

all straight letters

ok, i did this in 2 minutes and i wanted it to all fit in a rectangle, so there is a lot of inconsistency to the width of the letters. never mind the details, i just figured there would be people wondering how to write all the letters with no curves. the C and the G could be made with three strokes and more like the O, with the right vertical stroke missing. lots of variations are possible. now i suppose you want lower case and numbers....
