July from Maggie - baby animal stamps - D's owl

Sue Mashman sent me this link that is full of fun stuff - https://www.barizaki.com/blog. There are closeups of all the 250th USPS Anniversary stamps - and other mail related items. Bari Zaki's shop is a couple blocks from the house where my grandkids live, in Chicago - and I have dropped in a few times. This has been an add-on - that I put at the top, since I already had an add-on at the bottom.

Also -- the pear card posted yesterday came in this envelope - and Maggie let me know that it was watercolor. Also - she sometimes use gouache on her envelopes - although she prefers Daniel Smith watercolors.

As I said the day before yesterday - we might have a few short posts - but they will be pretty. This is from Maggie - one of the three CT exchangers. Irene is the third. Irene's envelope was right before Lynne's - so the CT exchangers ended up in a series. There is no rhyme or reason to the order of posting. It's entirely random. It's 7 am and I've finished my coffee - but I feel like I should fill up at least 5 posts.

Maybe I'll come back with some add ons.

Here is a fun add-on - added on Tuesday when I drove to the main post office to hand deliver mail to Davonte, Aurora and Aicha. For the August exchange - almost everyone received a Baby Animal stamp. I had almost all the August exchange envelopes ready to go. Mia and Maggie will have to wait a few more days.

After I finished the envelopes, I realized I should have paid attention to the background colors.

Most of my orange markers are too dry. I substituted an orangish red. The blue marker is almost too dry. I'm happy with the colors. There is so little of the orange on the owl stamp that it doesn't clash with the reddish marker. This is a sneak peek of the August envelopes. I won't post them until later in the month - or maybe even September.

My favorite part of these stamps is that they each have tiny details that can be used to decorate the letters. Shout out to Rachael for the idea for these letters.
