July from JeanR

JeanR is a prolific card maker and mail sender. The artwork looks like some kind of intense ink. It is very pretty - prettier in real life than the photo. Jean and I will be getting together one of these days. She only spends half the year in Des Moines.

As I write this on July 22 we are in a month that broke the record for the amount of rain that we normally get. The weeds situation is worse than Little Shop of Horrors. The mosquitos are the size of Buicks. I might have to procure some mosquito netting as I wage the battle with the weeds. It is also two days prior to July 24th with the 4th anniversary of the day I was just making coffee, fainted and had my little vacation in the intensive care ward.

Every once in a while I go back and read the posts I wrote during that time and it's a reminder of how long it takes to recover from brain injury - but at least I'm better. There are so many typos. Not that I am typo-free these days - but there are fewer.

Back in August and September of 2021 I was full of tips on how to train a caregiver and how to interface with medical people. Re-reading those posts is a useful reminder to do everything possible to stay healthy. Shout out to those of you who are dealing with anything related to being on either end of the care spectrum.

I have 23 photos loaded and ready for the blurbs to be written --- and *we* will have 23 days of my musings - unless there are *events* to report on.

  1. I love that splash of blue and green. Feels like an ocean wave!
Jean, have you tried a thermacel for mosquitoes? They work very well and you don't have to hose yourself down with mosquito spray.
