May to Christy and Kate

I forgot - after I did Amy's, I did put a heart-A on one more envelope before I ditched that idea. See below. Then I tried Christy's and it would have been ok if the C had been larger. That's one of the better little guys that I drew. They are deceptively hard to draw. I totally botched the mish-mash style on her name because I didn't do a practice run. Grrrr at myself. I put the stamp low so hopefully the cancel will just skim across the top.

The idea to have a border and rays around the stamp is a fine idea. The name in red with rays is another idea that should have worked. But, those rays are harder than they look. It's hard to get the right weight and then it's hard to make them either squared off on the ends or rounded.

The black border shows through the stamp which is regrettable. The lower rays on the t and e are deeply regrettable.

Tomorrow we will start with the ones that were inspired by Mary's grid design.

Bottom line on Keith Haring design - what looks so simple, is not.
