May to Amy - Mary's grid inspiration

Cartoon styles appear to be *easy* and they probably are if you do lots of them, day after day. For me, it is a real challenge to get something that looks fresh and spontaneous. My version of Keith Haring is clunky and tortured. Maybe that's too harsh.. I think there are 12 envelopes coming up with Keith Haring stamps. Other people have A's in their names - but, this one didn't seem like it had any potential so I switched to stealing an idea from Mary - who kindly sent me photos of the envelopes she sent in May. As I've mentioned, she does all her designs ahead of time - and then fills in names and addresses after she gets her list

The clerk at the PO told her she needed a stamp on this one. The stamp blended in with the design so well, the clerk couldn't see it. I loved the idea of the stamp establishing two horizontal lines and two vertical lines and then a couple more lines to divide up the space. I knew I would not be filling in all the sections and I thought the Keith Haring stamp would offer some alternatives.
