May from Mary - post office story

This is from Mary. I love Mr. Zippy. There are several add-ons already written and I am just going down the list of photos in the random order in which they appear -  so it was serendipitous that this envelope popped up to go with a post office story.

***

A friend of mine was at the post office I frequent the most. She was behind a woman who was all fired up because her carrier had left slips of paper indicating there were five packages at the post office for her to pick up. Only two of them were available to pick up. She wanted to talk to the station manager - so the clerk summoned the manager. I do not have the full conversation. They went back and forth. Eventually the manager said, "Unfortunately, with the lawsuit, it might need to be completed before delivery to your house is resumed."

By then, there were three people in line and the angry customer turned to the other customers and said these exact words, "Well if he wouldn't have said what he said I wouldn't have had to hit him."

Wow! I know how serious it is when a carrier is bit by a dog. I hadn't even pondered what happens when a person assaults a carrier.

Tomorrow I will share my angry customer story - even though I'm guessing it's appeared previously in one of the 6,875 posts.
