a first

finally...someone stumbled across the blog and sent me a piece of snail mail. i have had several people email me, and i do appreciate receiving the emails. but i always wondered if anyone would ever be inspired to drop something in the mail...without emailing first. it is a very fun image. :-)

i will not be posting my return mail...because i forgot to scan it before i sent it. but, it looks a lot like all my other envelopes.

    Hello Jean, I so enjoy your blog and seeing everyone's creativity here. I started snail mailing again this year using fountain pens and now I am teaching myself how to write in Italics using a book. I have to admit my favourite part of the letter writing is actually painting on the envelope and I was inspired by this envelope and painted something very similar so I could post it to my German pen friend. I am not an artist but I hope to find my own voice someday. Thanks for your wonderful blog!
