After all those envelope 'no-sends', i really feel like I have been gypped NOT getting so much mail. BTW--- I have a huge folder with wilson-mail collected over the past 10 years (we met at IAMPETH 2001). Could do a whole show of them. Remember the "LIPS" one???? and who we met when you were here in nyc that inspired it?
Jean, I discovered your blog yesterday (and posted about it on my own blog) and I can't stop clicking on "older posts" at the bottom of each page and gazing in awe at all the wonderful works of art. So inspiring!
I'm a late bloomer in the world of calligraphy and lettering... like, REALLY late (I'm 39 and just got serious about it a couple of months ago) but I'm finding so much talent on the Internet that I'm hopelessly hooked now. :) (I probably spend more time admiring others' work than practicing, though, and I must change that!)
Anyway, just wanted to thank you for sharing all these delightful envelopes with the rest of us. It's a treat! :)
no, nan, i do not remember the lips envelope or the inspiration. maybe i need to plan a trip to nyc and scan your collection.
and ann...welcome to the blog. there are a lot of ideas that are very beginner friendly. show a wide range of styles and if you are drawn to lettering but already know that you won't have time to practice a lot...you'll find ideas on this blog that are *instant-gratification.*
