Penmanship with Lyric and Hester (No. 5)

Scroll down for today's regular post.

We are going to experiment with Hester and Lyric.

Here are two new exemplars to try. Hester will be trying something we've never talked about - making everything very round and adding space between the letters. Sometimes a radical change will force you to think about the components instead of letting your muscle memory do what it has been doing for many years.

Lyric is going to try a very exaggerated angular motion - without any slant - to see if it will do the same thing. Rehabilitating penmanship is a search for ways to over-ride your muscle memory.

Lyric: Try to find a rhythm in the zig-zag motions. Feel free to add words from the top group. Then do the pangram sentence just to see which letters flow nicely. We might rethink the groups of letters if you this variation makes the rhythm easier.

  1. I am struggling very hard with this assignment. I put a pic on Flourish.

My writing looks retarded . . . which it is actually. I will go back in again 🤷🏾.

    1. My bad -- I did not make it clear that one would want to use only plain lined paper - no slant lines. Or one could use graph paper. Hopefully, Lyric did not make herself too dizzy trying to write upright on paper with slant lines.
