ahhhh - the peacock series. that was a fun one. i think i did a decent job of labeling them so they would all come up at once. i won't label this one so that if someone uses the label function, they won't get a duplicate. such a pretty stamp. i wonder if there are other stamps that will generate the fun and comments that we had with this one.
for anyone who is new to the blog and missed this series - you click on the [peacock] label and 15 posts will come up. here is a link to the first one....
the comment section cracked me up. my readers are hysterical. i need to find time to go back and review all the comments and post them in a [highlighting my readers section]

desk cleaning - peacock for rehj
desk cleaning - a recent addition to the pile. some of us recall the peacock binge with fondness. jan loaned me her peacock rubber stamp and i made a couple envelopes. i'm not the best with rubber stamps. i added some colored pencil. and i like that style of lettering with the peacocks. the snowflake clashes on every level except color. but you have to embrace the wabi sabi when you are cleaning your desk.

cindy's peacock
cindy said she is a flannery o'connor fanatic. i enjoyed reading all about o'connor's love of peacocks on the wiki-site.
this scan shows the envelope with the flap open so you can see the stamp that is on the back. it is from thailand. and there was a gorgeous peacock feather patterned lining inside the envelope.
thanks so much for participating in the exchange - and contributing to the peacock series.

nancy's peacocks
another early one i forgot to post. i like the idea, but they just look so scraggly. once again, it is not wednesday. note to self: don't even try to be orderly.
these were g-tecs with a bit of water added.

peacocks playing poker
200 followers and 400,000 views.
thank you readers :-)
today's regular post is below this one
i google a ton of obscure stuff and i can never stump google. i have never had an original idea. until this one. there was not a single picture of peacocks playing poker. i was stunned. also happy that i finally had an original idea. but i am equally depressed that this is it.
then, to make matters worse, i folded the paper too close to the lamp, so now it is a reject. and i hesitate to invest more time along these lines. even though it is tempting to google every single creature to see if anyone has done them playing poker.
serious time wasting information follows:

spencerian peacock video
if you need a *peacock fix* today, here is a peacock and all kinds of other interesting spencerian artwork combined with music in a video. i can't make out what the words are. something mushy, no doubt. my apologies if it is offensive. i just look at the pictures.

it was made to celebrate the 50th anniversary of Dr. Martin's inks (popular with scribes)
and then alert reader, jackie, sent this superb link to the peacock room - one of those stories about artists that just makes you smile and be proud to be an artist. so validating. thank you jackie.

peacock madness has me up to 3 posts a day - but i promise, from now on, we will only havepeacock wednesdays. i hope i haven't scared anyone off.
i had to give up on peacock wednesdays, too much work to find a calendar. but, i think i only have one peacock per week from now on. elizabeth sent me a font that took me into new territory.

peacocks - for finn and jack
i doubt anyone would find the lerche in this one.
or notice that the top-knot feathers on the head spell out phillip. but it is slightly better than the pamela
and then i had this idea for jack which is a more polite than the first one - even though he says he liked the first one. this one might look better with the eye on the left end curved up and the other end curved down.

bonus post - finn's peacock
i'll be working on a better version of making the tail into the name. i really need to set up a live feed channel so i can just post the progress of the various ideas.
pamela's peacock
yes, the peacock series is on a downhill trajectory. not because this is a bad idea, but because it is poorly executed. but, i'll save you all some worry and assure you that by the time i got to jack's, i was re-inspired and jack's envelope is the pièce de résistance.
the head and neck is a P,
then amel(lll)a

hester's peacock
my second idea for the peacock requestees. i like the idea better than my execution. i had to try some very quick tiny lines for the feathers to see if they were just as nice as the carefully drawn ones on smash's. sadly, they are not. so far, i would say this is worse than the first one. do you think they keep getting worse?

peacock for smash
first one out of the chute and i love it. ammneded it to *like it a lot*. i eventually put more floovers on each feather which looked better. not sure floover is the official term. finn will research and tell us.
but, it took a lot of time and there was no way i wanted to do 4 more along these lines.
so....do you think they get better as i go along or do you think they deteriorate?
oh, it's just as easy to do my own research

new stamp
OK, i have 4 people who will be getting peacock envelopes. carol: to receive your envelope, just email your snail mail address to me at the address that is posted in the blurb with with my photo in the *about me* section (to the right). pamela, i think i have your address, but you might want to send me an email, just to be sure i have the right pamela. heather and susan, i have yours :-). anyone else, sorry you missed out this time, but, if you send me a heart-wrenching essay about how meaningful peacocks are to you i will consider doing more.
