jan and i both ooohed and ahhhed over this one. we can't tell exactly how it was done. it looks a little like a *blotted* image. maybe not. but it is very pretty in person. smash uses high quality paper and ink/paint which makes a difference.
i use a lot of junky cheap stuff...and the results are usually fun, but the fun stuff isn't quite a dreamy as the fine art stuff. but, i do like them equally. the only time i don't like the cheap stuff is when i've put a ton of time into something and realize that it would have been dreamy, if only the materials had been of a better quality.
Stunning indeed. Perfect stamp, and even the imb is perfectly placed. This Smash abstract is a tour de force.
ReplyDeleteWell said, Finn; well said. I always enjoy Smash's creative envelopes.
ReplyDeleteThank you. My go to envelopes now are cranes or William Arthur they are pricey, even blank, but at this point, we're only talking about 100 or so a year. The paper is better quality and they will take some abuse like water and erasure. I'm not a snob, I will try anything.
ReplyDeleteSo please tell us how did you create this work of art? Really love the colors!
ReplyDeleteThis env was written 4 months ago, it's in my brain dead zone. I don't remember.
ReplyDeleteIt looks like a dog pointing to Jean. Guess, walnut ink, credit card, maybe some dirty water, some blue ink, maybe a small piece of glass with some paint on it and pressed onto the envelope.
What ever you did, it is a real smash hit!
