garden of love stamps

these stamps are supposed to be on sale on may 23. will there be a big line at the p.o. tomorrow? alert followers probably see that the zip is an iowa zip. this one is a reject from a set i am doing for my daughter and her husband. they are the thank you notes they are sending for wedding gifts. my mom thinks that it is *wrong* for me to address the envelopes. i suppose i should send another mailing, explaining that the couple could address the envelopes on their own, but they prefer to use the services of a calligrapher. i am putting two stamps on the envelopes to cover the surcharge for squareness.the drawing is done with colored pencil.

  2. and there are 5 different sets of 2 stamps
so i had to come up with 5 different designs.
i suppose i could come up with 10, one for each stamp...yes, need to do that :-) thanks for positive feedback. that always helps me come up with more ideas...

  3. re: thank yous - as long as the bride and groom write on the inside, it doesn't matter who does the envelope. when my daughter & her husband did theirs, they didn't want them calligraphed, but did enlist the help of the maid-of-honor and best man for addressing. these are simply beautiful, jean, e&c are very, very lucky to have your help, and i am sure they are appreciative. i imagine there are etiquette experts out there who'll disagree with the collaborative model, but i disagree with them! can't wait until tomorrow - i love the background color on this stamp series. i want to try a prussian blue/green envelope w/ them. . .

  5. and katy/kathy...i need to do a cartoon of the sockless folks. it is fun for me to look at wedding snapshots and recognize people who i remember sought me out to tell me how much they loved the mail.

  7. it is difficult to type/spell the little noises of excitement that i made when i read about the abstract expressionist stamps. . .would it be too forward of me to ask for the whole sheet at once? how about i send a lunar new year sheet in exchange?? okay, i gotta go watch the youtube video - i don't know what i'll do if you say no. . .
