cathy - storm trooper
the juxtaposition of the stormtrooper with the plants amuses me. the plants remind me of poison ivy. they aren't. but, i am always impressed with the plants that have figured out how to be warriors. so, this would be perfect if the images were poison ivy. i also like the juxtaposition of the old school penmanship with the star wars guy. i remember liking some of the old school touches in the movie. a Nikko G nib and McCaffrey's ink worked just fine on the slick catalog paper.

I'm impressed with the Star Wars stamps you've presented so far. They are very well-designed, and really enhance the envelopes, which I wouldn't necessarily expect on first look at them altogether on the sheet. I like that they are different sizes, as well. Can't wait to see what you do with Darth Vader!
ReplyDeleteTruly an amazing envelope! great combination.
ReplyDeleteGreat envelope!! I almost missed the matching muted colors on the flowers and the storm trooper. First glance it all seems black and white

I came back to look at this again, and I think that's famed bounty hunter Boba Fett rather than a stormtrooper. Doesn't detract from how fantastic the combo is - you have a great eye for choosing magazine pages that will make stunning envelopes.
ReplyDeletethis is jean....there are two places that put me to sleep, rock concerts and sci-fi movies. so, i do not really know any of the correct names. and....i am not sure i have the full set of star wars stamps. if not, i will find a darth vader stamp. still snow bound - even though it is clear here. i am in a catch 22 of weather. on even days, there is bad weather, preventing me from landing in the midwest. then, when the bad weather passes, it goes to the east coast and then i can't take off. i might have to wait until spring. today i went to the library to research the use of computers that have a mouse rather than a touch pad. the trip to find stamps was a big ol' debacle. although, difficulties usually yield creative ideas.
