bonus post today

the scheduled post for today is not actually an envelope, so i feel like i owe you an envelope. this one appeared a few days ago but you could not see the little man. he was drawn in pencil. i inked him in so he would scan. and added the red part of the address. i have to ponder the stamp. one or two? i have a hard time with stamp proportions and putting a portrait stamp on a landscape envelope. jackie tells me, she too has issues with stamp placement and is leaning towards not using stamps. i, on the other hand, get so much inspiration from the stamps, that i would have trouble ditching them.

hmmmmm. now i am looking at the loops. need to do something with that whole situation.

  1. oh, i'll never completely ditch stamps, either. i just wish i could sometimes put them somewhere besides upper right. meanwhile, while we are waiting for the p.o. to get on board with our artistic needs, i'll be training some of the neighborhood owls to carry my mail. let me know how they are doing, will you? the last few owl posts i've received have arrived covered in mouse fur.

  2. i'm not sure why you think you have to put the stamps in the upper right corner.... you may put them anywhere....really...i'm not making this up...

  3. The stamp fuss is probably just my way of delaying my international calligraphic teaching career, which I am sure would interfere with my ability to ever get a good night's sleep again. I guess it wouldn't hurt to send you a little mail with an oddly placed stamp. . .in fact, it could be an interesting way to add to the delay, which would suit me just fine.

  4. and don't forget, you can just send a scan, with or without a stamp....the readers would be happy to see some of your work.

  5. Scan, yes, absolutely. As you know, the mere possibility of an irretrievable encounter with the Dead Letter Office generally puts me into a state of complete immobility.
