From INTA in Sept - Netherlands/Holland/Belgium

This is a lovely handmade envelope from Inta - in the Netherlands. The design on the paper is art nouveau inspired - or perhaps it is an actual design, reproduced. I wonder if all those William Morris designs are *owned* by anyone. Googling provided so many options that I had to just *click out* or would have lost several hours.

Several weeks ago - I wondered about the stamp on Inta's envelope - and wrote something about it being from Belgium. Inta politely let me know that it was a penguin on a stamp from the Netherlands - and I felt silly. Then I remembered a question that has been rolling around for a long time - why are there two names associated with Holland/Netherlands - and why are they called Dutch - when Deutschland (Germany) seems like it would use the word Dutch.

Here is a video that explains it all - and makes me a bit sad that I will never get to visit Holland/Netherlands. It looks like another corner of Europe where you could pack a ton of sightseeing and visiting into a visit. The good part about the Internet - is I can do a lot of touring from the comfort of my home. Not quite the same - but still lovely.

Inta can let us know if this video has any mis-information - although I do not expect you to watch it, Inta - that does not sound like a good use of your time.
