From Kristine - and to Cathy - Lichtenstein fruit stamps

This arrived from Kristine - and below is my Aug envelope to Cathy. I like Kristine's better than mine
I should have photographed it without that stripy background - it looked so unfinished. I put the stripes on the outside of the velum envelope. The drawing is on regular paper on the inside.

I like the way Kristine tipped the stamp over. I'm thinking it might want to be upside down.

I tried to spell out CATHY - apple-A - banana-T - very weird grape-H and the Y is the compote. I should have drawn them in a row - and had the compote empty.

There were a couple comments hiding in my spam folder. Carolyn let us know that she received the tic-tac-toe envelope that Mary returned. Mary had left a comment that it arrived without being canceled - so she added an O - and took it to the post office - and they were willing to resend it - which surprised me. Carolyn is deciding how to proceed with the game.

Then - Mia had a marvelous addition to the discussion of The Plague. Not only did I go to the link - I spent a fair amount of time - reading some other stories. There are many different ways to teach - and the way these stories have so many visuals - really connects with my style of learning. If only there was a way to reconnect my memory of all this fascinating information.

This is Mia's comment - and below is a link to her story:

Just before I retired I was on sabbatical creating a GIS (geographical information system) interactive storymap about 17th century plague data collection in London when the actual pandemic happened! I managed to complete my storymap called, "A Plague on Your Data : a storymap experiment".

  1. It's good to know Carolyn's envelope got back to her. I'm on a first name basis with many of my postal workers. Maybe they are just as curious to see what happens as we are!
