This is the first one where I drew two horizontal and two vertical lines to grid off a space for the stamp which is the starting point for appropriating Mary's idea. Then I did two more lines to create more spaces. I'm OK with Janet's first name, except for the N in Janet. It is too wide and then the t drops down too far and the RenauD is a mess. The address has all kinds of problems. All of them would have been resolved if I had done some rough drafts. Instead - I chose to have fun, without planning. I like putting my return address on the front. And I thought this idea had a lot of potential. Enough that I think there are 8 more. Yikes. Nobody wants 8 more days of these - I will gang them.
I did not look back at Mary's inspiration envelope - so I did not remember that Jessica was the recipient of that envelope. I wonder what Jessica thought when she saw the two of them. Mary had mentioned that she has trouble with fitting in Jessica's last name. Don't we all. I was very happy with how the spacing turned out on mine. The quality of the lettering is very uninspired. And if you look closely - you can see that there is a ton of white ink around the Schwessinger. That's because I spelled it Schewssinger the first time and I used a finer tip. I didn't like the look of the fine tip so I went over it in the bold and it was perfectly spaced - so I just whited out everything behind the bold lettering. I don't like the h - but I can live with it. I wish I had emboldened the Jessica.
I pondered filling in more red on the hearts - and think more red would have been fine. This one was good enough that I thought I'd be hitting a groove with the next one.
Here's a re-run of the inspiration envelope. I just now noticed that Mary's lines do not run off the sides, she has a border - so now I might have to try that.
