went back to doing a soft, broad stroke of colored pencil using the side of the pencil. layered a few colors. added some darks. not that happy with it yet. might find some time to layer something else over the top
compared to the colored pencil yesterday, this one does not *pop* because it is not on a colored envelope. but the things it do like are the softer shading on both sides of the more defined line, the suggestion of outlining, and the tiny extra stroke i added to the grass. i started by drawing the grass as it grew, with stokes upward from the ground and curving. then i went back and pulled the tips in from the opposite direction.
