An extra post about word spacing

Here are several examples of word spacing. The top one is by John Stevens and his work is always sublime. I didn't see any names on any of the other work - and I won't point out where I see spacing that looks a little too spacey for me. If you look at the white space, sometimes you see *rivers* of space there that extra space stacks up from line to line - and there is a distracting amount of white space that makes a wavy vertical *river* through the piece. Once you know about *rivers* they are really easy to spot. Rivers can also happen in blocks of typewritten copy where the column is justified - which is when there is added space between words to make the columns even on both sides. Maybe I can find an example of that. <pause> Well, that was easy - I'll add examples at the end.
