Mary's was done somewhere in the middle and it's the most successful. If I ever did more of these, I'd stick with just two horizontal lines and three vertical. I think this is the best set of lines. I'm happy with the balance of red and black. The mish-mash letters on her name resolves the problem with how to do the name. Black was always too heavy. Red was too distracting.
Here they are, all together. I took this photo and then forgot to take individual ones - so I had to make a bunch of duplicates and crop them into the individuals.
This is the end of the Keith Haring series. I'll run the winner of May tomorrow. It's an example of how sometimes it only takes one try to see all the problems and then work them out and do something that works very nicely on the second try.....instead of this path where I had 10 tries and I am not wowed by any of them.
It involves flowers and sometimes I think I should just stick to flowers. Flowers are the most forgiving thing to draw. More forgiving than dots. That perspective might be worth more conversation. Maybe July 4th.
